Dedicated to the memory of my parents and their having joined two remarkable families. It is given as a gift to their descendants in the hope that they will learn to appreciate their ancestors, the journeys which they have undertaken, and the obstacles which they have overcome. Many of my ancestors have been larger than life and cast a large shadow. It is important that we step back from the trees to look at the forest so that we can make an informed choice as to where we want to plant our own roots amongst this great heritage.
